What is the weather like?
Whimsical! El Silencio Lodge & Spa features highland mountain weather with temperatures ranging from 50º-70ºF. Mild during the day, colder at night. In a nutshell, expect sun, rain, clouds, and mist.
Can I arrive at night?
El Silencio Lodge & Spa strongly recommends arriving by 6:00 pm at the latest. For alternatives, please contact us.
What clothes should I bring?
Bring a sweater and closed/hiking shoes. Long pants and a windbreaker are recommended. Cozy casual is the dress code! Talk to our reservation’s department for the latest updates regarding weather.
How many nights should I stay?
A minimum 2 night stay may be required during certain periods. We strongly recommend at least 2 or 3 nights to fully relax and best enjoy our ample selection of cultural experiences and eco-adventures. Our corner of Costa Rica is quite intense!
Are there beaches nearby? No, El Silencio Lodge & Spa is located in Costa Rica’s central volcanic range. You can combine your stay with a visit to our sister beach property, Hotel Punta Islita. We will gladly help you plan a complete Costa Rica experience!
Can children visit?
We have set a minimum age of 8 to visit. Our goal is to create a relaxing natural immersion experience. The ambiance is peaceful and subdued, especially during meals. The hotel is best suited for children who have a keen interest in nature.
Can I watch TV?
Suites do not feature a TV set. The view is so spectacular, you certainly won’t miss one! Villas do feature satellite TV. The Meeting Room in the main lodge features one large LCD screen.
Can I remain connected?
All guests can enjoy complimentary WiFi in the Conference Room. Private Villas and the Riverside Suites offer onsite WiFi.
Is smoking allowed?
In accordance to Costa Rican law and its wellness theme, El Silencio Lodge & Spa is a non-smoking facility. We thank you for your kind understanding.
Are pets allowed?
We apologize for any inconvenience, but pets are not allowed.
Can you accommodate special diets?
El Silencio’s Las Ventanas Restaurant offers delectable farm-to-table dishes highlighting local and organic flavors. In addition to the regular menu, we offer gluten free and vegetarian options. We will do our best to accommodate other special dietary requirements with prior notice.
Can I visit for the day?
Non-guests can enjoy lunch at Las Ventanas Restaurant but reservations are mandatory and subject to availability. To schedule, please contact the hotel directly at: +506 2476-0303. Day visitors may also have access to our private hiking trails, Adventure Park, and Spa Services Please note that, although we try to comply with requests to the fullest extent possible, we are generally unable to accommodate dinner reservations for non-guests.
